Spain updates visa appointment system in Morocco as BLS introduces new procedures, including at Tangier center, to curb appointment trafficking

    ayaJuly 27, 2026

BLS International, the company responsible for receiving Spanish visa applications in Morocco, has introduced a new appointment management system at its centers in Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca. The initiative is designed to streamline the submission of visa applications, reduce waiting times and combat the illegal resale of Schengen visa appointments.

Under the new system, online appointment booking will remain mandatory for first-time applicants as well as for certain other categories. However, travelers who have previously obtained long-term Schengen visas and meet the required eligibility criteria will be allowed to submit their applications without booking an appointment in advance.

The company clarified that this facility will remain subject to the daily processing capacity of each center and the number of applications that can be accepted. Students enrolled in Spanish higher education institutions will also benefit from simplified procedures intended to facilitate the submission of their visa files.

The changes come as demand for Spanish visas in Morocco continues to exceed available appointment slots, a situation that has contributed to the emergence of intermediaries illegally selling appointments at inflated prices.

BLS International reiterated that appointments should only be booked through its official online platform and warned applicants against dealing with intermediaries or responding to offers circulating on social media, citing the risks of fraud and abuse.

According to the announced schedule, new appointment slots at the Casablanca center will be released every Sunday from 10:00 a.m., while appointments for the Rabat center will become available every Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

The company has also strengthened verification procedures during the submission process by ensuring that the information provided during appointment booking matches the supporting documents presented and by requiring payments to be made in the applicant’s own name. These measures are intended to prevent identity fraud and the illegal trade in visa appointments.

Through these reforms, BLS International aims to improve transparency, enhance the efficiency of visa application procedures and provide a more organized service for the large number of Moroccan applicants seeking Spanish visas each year.
