Morocco’s participation in the FIVB U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship in The Hague has drawn attention following Dutch media reports that two members of the Moroccan delegation went missing shortly after arriving in the Netherlands, while no official statement has yet been issued by the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation or Moroccan authorities.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the two players, representing Moghreb Tetouan and FUS Rabat, reportedly left the team’s hotel with their personal belongings soon after checking in and subsequently lost contact with the delegation.
The newspaper reported that the players posted a message on Instagram indicating they were in downtown The Hague before disappearing. After they failed to attend official registration procedures, the Moroccan delegation alerted the Dutch Volleyball Federation, which informed the police and initiated efforts to locate them and contact their families.
The Dutch federation also referred to unconfirmed information suggesting the players may have travelled to Spain to join relatives, although no official authority has verified that claim.
