The Executive Committee of Morocco’s Istiqlal Party has officially endorsed Ahmed Amine El Methioui as the party’s lead candidate in Chefchaouen Province for the upcoming parliamentary elections, during a meeting chaired in Rabat by Secretary-General Nizar Baraka.
According to the party, the nomination followed an internal selection process that included the review of applications by the Ethics and Conduct Committee, verification of legal requirements, and evaluation based on professional competence, local presence, commitment to the party’s principles, and consultation with local party structures.
Ahmed Amine El Methioui currently serves as Secretary of the Provincial Council of Chefchaouen, municipal councillor in Beni Ahmed Charqia, and lawyer at the Tetouan Bar Association. The Istiqlal Party is counting on his political, academic and professional background to strengthen its electoral presence in the province.
The party also stressed that the endorsement reflects its commitment to merit, integrity and competence by presenting candidates capable of representing citizens’ interests and contributing to the province’s development.
