Local authorities in Tangier have authorized cafés, licensed restaurants and similar establishments to extend their opening hours on Monday night into Tuesday morning, ahead of the highly anticipated FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 match between Morocco and the Netherlands.
According to information published by Tangier Al Aan, citing informed sources, the affected venues will be allowed to remain open until 5:00 a.m., instead of the usual closing time, to enable fans to watch the match under suitable conditions.
The same sources indicated that the decision also takes into account the possibility of extra time or a penalty shootout, which could extend the match into the early hours of Tuesday.
Cafés and public venues broadcasting the game are expected to attract large crowds, as Moroccan supporters hope to see the national team secure qualification for the Round of 16.
