Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has finalized the national team’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after making late changes to the roster ahead of the tournament, according to information released by FIFA.
The final list excludes defender Nayef Aguerd and winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, both ruled out due to fitness concerns before the start of the competition in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
According to the available information, Aguerd was unable to complete his recovery from a previous injury despite undergoing surgery and following a rehabilitation program. Ezzalzouli, meanwhile, sustained a knee injury during a recent friendly match, preventing him from being available for selection.
To replace the injured players, the Moroccan technical staff called up Marouane Saâdane and Amine Sebaï from the reserve list, completing the final squad ahead of the team’s opening fixture.
Morocco will begin its World Cup campaign on June 13 with a highly anticipated match against Brazil at MetLife Stadium in New York. The Atlas Lions will then face Scotland on June 19 in Foxborough before concluding the group stage against Haiti on June 24 in Atlanta.
All three group-stage matches are scheduled to kick off at 11:00 p.m., according to the tournament schedule.
The latest adjustments come as Morocco completes its preparations for the global competition and looks to begin the tournament on a positive note against some of the world’s leading national teams.
