Irish economic and institutional officials called for stronger economic ties between Ireland and Morocco during economic meetings held in Cork, highlighting investment opportunities available in several strategic sectors across the Kingdom.
The meetings were organized by the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development in coordination with the Embassy of Morocco in Ireland, as part of efforts to promote Morocco as an investment destination among Irish business circles.
Participants emphasized the growing interest of Irish companies in the Moroccan market, noting that Morocco continues to strengthen its attractiveness through economic stability, infrastructure modernization, and its strategic geographic position linking Europe and Africa.
In this context, Michael Mulcahy, president of the Little Island Business Association, said Irish companies are increasingly interested in opportunities offered by Morocco in sectors such as industry, services, technology, and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Cork Deputy Mayor Ian Doyle stated that economic exchanges between the two countries continue to grow, particularly in agriculture, dairy products, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, and industrial equipment.
He also highlighted potential cooperation in digital technologies, services, and renewable energy, in addition to ongoing discussions aimed at developing tourism flows between Morocco and Cork.
