A group of students at risk of dropping out of school in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region are benefiting from the first spring camp organized by the Regional Academy of Education and Training in Asilah from May 3 to May 8, 2026, as part of efforts to reduce school dropout rates.
The camp is being organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, Youth Department, and the National Camping University, within the framework of the 2022-2026 roadmap for “a quality public school”.
Speaking to Maghreb Arab Press Agency, Abdelmoghith Brouhou, coordinator of the alternative pathways program, said that around 115 students aged between 13 and 15 years are taking part in the initiative, including 13 girls.
He explained that the initiative aims to encourage students to continue their education and improve their integration within schools, contributing to efforts to reduce school dropout rates.
For his part, Mohamed Abdeljalil, regional president of the National Camping University, stated that participants come from all provinces of the region and are benefiting from educational, cultural, and recreational activities.
The program also includes workshops in drawing, theater, and environmental awareness activities designed to meet the psychological, educational, and social needs of participants.
