Morocco has launched a major development program worth around 21,000 billion centimes, equivalent to more than 22.5 billion dollars, to be implemented over eight years, aiming to boost territorial development across the country.
The initiative, known as the integrated territorial development program, is based on designing tailored development plans for each province according to its economic and social characteristics, covering both urban and rural areas.
Investments will focus on key sectors affecting daily life, including job creation, economic development, healthcare, education, and basic infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and electricity.
The program was developed through consultations with local stakeholders and analysis of socio-economic data, allowing authorities to identify priorities and adapt interventions to each region.
While the plan is seen as a potential step toward reducing regional disparities, its actual impact will depend on effective implementation and the ability to deliver tangible improvements for citizens.
