The city of Marrakech hosted the closing of the fourth edition of “GITEX Africa”, one of the leading technology events on the African continent, marked by strong international participation and discussions on digital sovereignty and artificial intelligence.
Over three days, the event brought together technology experts, investors and data-focused companies from more than 130 countries, with around 1500 exhibitors and 800 startups, including 300 Moroccan startups, showcasing innovations in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and cloud computing.
Participants indicated that the growing interest in the event reflects the increasing attractiveness of the African market for technology investments, while reinforcing the role of GITEX Africa as a platform supporting digital transformation across the continent.
Discussions during the event focused on data protection, digital security and the challenges associated with artificial intelligence, as well as the role of fintech in promoting financial inclusion.
The event aligns with Morocco’s strategy to strengthen its position as a digital hub connecting Africa and Europe.
