The Court of First Instance in Sefrou decided on Tuesday, April 7, to postpone the examination of the case involving former world kickboxing champion and president of the Imouzzer Kandar municipality, Mustapha Lakhsem, until May 19, in connection with suspected embezzlement of public funds and the falsification and use of administrative documents.
According to available information, the case emerged following several complaints submitted to the competent authorities, including complaints from citizens who stated that their personal data had been included in lists of temporary workers without their knowledge, raising questions about the management of this matter.
In this context, a municipal councilor in Imouzzer Kandar, Ali Aouine, stated that internal investigations identified elements related to the management of human resources, particularly concerning temporary worker lists, calling for further investigation to determine responsibilities in accordance with applicable procedures.
For his part, Mustapha Lakhsem had previously submitted his resignation from the presidency of the municipal council, citing difficulties that affected the implementation of several projects, according to his statements.
This case comes after the investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Fez concluded the investigation in May 2025, before referring it to the Prosecutor General, who decided to bring it before the Court of First Instance in Sefrou.
