The issue of marriage contract costs in Morocco has sparked widespread discussion on social media, following reports claiming increases reaching 3,500 dirhams or more, however informed professional sources have denied these figures, stating they have no official basis.
The same sources clarified that ongoing discussions within professional circles are not related to raising fees for drafting marriage contracts, but rather focus on legal and regulatory reforms aimed at enhancing transaction transparency and protecting the rights of contracting parties.
They added that among the proposals under consideration is the introduction of more secure mechanisms for managing financial transactions related to contracts, ensuring the protection of all parties until administrative procedures are completed.
The sources stressed that the circulated figures regarding cost increases are inaccurate interpretations or unverified information, noting that any change in this area would be subject to clear legal and regulatory procedures.
They concluded that the objective of these discussions is to improve professional practices and strengthen trust, without affecting citizens’ purchasing power.
