Morocco’s government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, announced that more than 1.15 million livestock farmers have benefited from the first phase of the national herd reconstitution program, with a total budget of around 5.5 billion dirhams.
Speaking after the weekly government council meeting, he stated that the direct financial support, launched in November 2025, covers livestock feed purchases and advance payments aimed at preserving female sheep and goats for breeding.
He added that the program is being implemented in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI, aimed at supporting farmers and rebuilding the national herd.
He also noted that monitoring operations regarding the retention of breeding females began on March 24, describing this step as essential for the continuation of the program.
He confirmed that the second phase of support will be distributed using the same mechanisms.
