The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, has granted an exceptional promotion to a police officer serving in Khouribga, in recognition of his role in an operation targeting an international drug trafficking network.
According to a statement by the General Directorate of National Security, the officer was promoted to the rank of police officer after participating in an intervention that led to the arrest of several suspects and the seizure of illicit substances.
The statement noted that the officer sustained serious injuries after being deliberately struck by a vehicle during the operation, requiring his transfer to the university hospital in Casablanca, where he is receiving medical care, alongside continued health and social support.
It added that other officers involved in the operation were commended for their efforts, which resulted in the arrest of five individuals suspected of links to a criminal network, as well as the seizure of drugs, ammunition, and an unlicensed hunting weapon.
This decision is part of measures aimed at recognizing the sacrifices of police personnel and ensuring their protection while carrying out their duties.
