The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced that it has received the decision of the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football, expressing its satisfaction with the outcome, and stating that it reinforces respect for regulations and the principles of sporting fairness.
In an official statement, the federation said that the legal process it followed in this case led to results it considers favorable, noting that the decision helps ensure the proper conduct of international competitions in accordance with established rules.
It explained that since the events surrounding the match between the national team and its Senegalese counterpart, which led to its suspension, it has maintained a position based on the strict application of competition rules, emphasizing that its action was limited to requesting compliance with regulations without challenging sporting performance.
The statement added that the previous decision of the disciplinary committee, which the federation appealed, revealed issues related to the non-compliance with certain rules, a point later confirmed by the Appeals Committee, highlighting the importance of adhering to governing regulations.
The federation reaffirmed its commitment to legal procedures in resolving competition-related disputes, participating in hearings and submitting observations as part of defending its rights.
It stated that the decision will help clarify applicable regulations in similar cases, strengthening the credibility of African football and promoting good governance principles.
The federation concluded by reiterating its commitment to defending the fair and strict application of rules before continental and international bodies, expressing confidence in upcoming sporting events, including the World Cup and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for next summer.
