Water reserves in dams located within the Loukkos basin in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region have reached 94.2 percent of total capacity as of February 16, according to official figures released by the Ministry of Equipment and Water through its “Al Ma Dialna” platform.
The total stored volume stands at 1,802.6 million cubic meters, indicating a significant recovery in water resources across the region.
Among the dams reporting full capacity are Oued El Makhazine Dam, Charif Al Idrissi Dam, Smir Dam, Ibn Battouta Dam, Moulay Hassan Ben El Mehdi Dam, Chefchaouen Dam and Nakhla Dam.
Meanwhile, Dar Khrofa Dam, Kharroub Dam and Tanger Med Dam have all surpassed 95 percent, and other dams such as 9 April 1947 Dam, Mohammed Ben Abdelkrim Al Khattabi Dam and Jomaa Dam have shown varying levels of improvement, while nationally overall dam filling stands above 70.6 percent with total reserves exceeding 11,833 million cubic meters.
