Local and security authorities were mobilized on the evening of April 5, 2026, following a collective food poisoning incident reported in the Rachidia district of Mohammedia, involving several individuals who had consumed a snail dish from a local vendor.
According to initial information, the affected individuals experienced symptoms minutes after eating, including severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting, prompting their urgent transfer to Moulay Abdellah Hospital for treatment, while medical sources indicated that their condition is stable.
Upon notification, authorities arrived at the scene and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident.
Health services also inspected the concerned establishment and collected samples of the food products for laboratory analysis to assess their safety and compliance.
